Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here… uh… Man…Manhat…Manhattan bag thingy. It’s a fancy bag, ya know? Like the ones them city gals carry.
This here YSL Manhattan bag, they call it. Sounds like a place, Manhattan. Maybe that’s where they make ’em? Don’t know, don’t care much neither. But folks seem to like ’em, so I figured I’d tell ya what I heard.

- And the biggest one, the YSL Manhattan Medium Shopping Bag, that’s like… (Stretches arms out wide, around 15.7” x 11.6” x 6.1”) For folks who buy a whole lot, I reckon. Maybe for carryin’ quilts or somethin’.
Now, some folks get all confused about this YSL and Saint Laurent business. They say it’s the same thing, but with different names, like how my John is Johnny to some folks. They got different logos too, pictures they put on the bags, but it’s all from the same place, they say. Started as YSL, then some fancy folks decided to call it Saint Laurent too. So, there ya have it. That’s what I know about this here Manhattan bag. It’s a famous bag .It’s a fancy, it’s got different sizes, and it comes from that YSL Saint Laurent place, whatever that is. And folks seem to like it, so it must be somethin’ special. Me? I’ll stick with my old tote bag. Holds just as much, and I ain’t afraid of gettin’ it dirty. But hey, to each their own, right? If you got the money and you like fancy things, then go ahead and get yourself a Manhattan bag. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you scratch it.
And they talk about remaking it. I guess that means they make new ones that look like the old ones? Like when I patch up my old quilt, it’s still the same quilt, just newer-lookin’. So, if you get a remake, it’s like getting the old style, but without the old worn-out parts, maybe? Sounds good to me. Why fix somethin’ that ain’t broke, right? Just make it new again and let peoples keep buyin’ the styles they like.
I tell you what, these city folk and their fashion… it’s a whole different world. But if a bag is sturdy and can hold your stuff, well, that’s good enough for me, no matter what name they call it or how much it costs. But if you want to be fancy, you go get yourself one of them YSL Saint Laurent Manhattan bags. You’ll be the talk of the town, or at least of your hen house.
And remember, whether it’s called YSL or Saint Laurent, it’s still the same thing, just like sugar and sweetening is the same thing. Don’t let them fool ya with the fancy names. And I think the classic style is the best. You know, the one that looks like it’s been around for a while, not some newfangled thing that’ll be out of style next week. Stick with the classics, that’s what I always say. They last longer and you don’t have to keep buying the new things every year, waste the money, you know.
