Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this thing called the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Duomètre Sphérotourbillon. You know, the official flagship store version. It’s a watch, a pretty fancy one, and I wanted to see if I could, you know, mess with it.
First off, I started looking around online. I mean, who doesn’t these days? I was trying to find out what I could about this watch. Lots of places had it for sale. Like, I saw some websites were selling the real deal, used ones, for, like, 22 grand! Crazy, right? And shipping was free, which, I guess, is something when you’re spending that much on a watch.
So, I kept digging. I wasn’t going to buy one, no way. I just wanted to figure out how this thing worked. I watched some videos, read some articles, the usual. It’s a complicated little piece of machinery, let me tell you. I’m no expert, but I started to get a feel for it.
Then, I thought, “Why not try to imitate it?” Not like, make an exact copy, but just get the general idea. I started messing around with some basic stuff, you know, gears and stuff I had lying around. It was a mess, to be honest. Lots of trial and error, lots of frustration.

- Eventually, made something that vaguely resembled a complicated watch mechanism.
My “methodology”
It took a while, I’m talking weeks here, of just messing around in my spare time. And the results? Well, let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. But, you know what? I learned a lot. I learned that these watchmakers are crazy skilled. And I learned that I’m definitely not one of them.
But hey, it was a fun project. I got to take something apart, figure out how it works (sort of), and try to put it back together in my own way. It’s not perfect, it’s not even close to the real Jaeger-LeCoultre, but it’s mine. And that’s something, right? I’m no pro, just a regular guy who likes to mess around with stuff. This is the result. It’s pretty rough, but I guess that’s okay.
