This here watch, it’s called a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. Sounds fancy, huh? But it’s just a watch, right? This one here, they call it the Reverso Tribute Chronograph. It’s a copycat, not the real deal. They trying to make it look like the real ones.
The Reverso, they say it’s special
They say this Reverso watch, it’s somethin’ else. Got this case, see, you can flip it over! Ain’t that somethin’? They been makin’ these since way back, 1931 I heard. This fella named Chauvot, he came up with it. That old one was smaller, though, this new one is bigger, 49.4 mm by 29.9 mm and 11.4mm thick, I think. They used to make ’em in gold, too. Now this one, it’s all shiny stainless steel. It’s got two faces, this watch. You flip it, and there’s another clock on the other side.
They got this fancy name, JLC, for Jaeger-LeCoultre. They make a lot of watches. But this Reverso, that’s the one everyone’s talkin’ about. It’s got numbers on one side, the other side is just plain. And it’s got these blue hands, kinda pretty, I guess.

This one’s a copy, though
Now, this one I’m talkin’ about, it’s not a real Jaeger-LeCoultre. It’s an imitation, a fake, a copycat. They make ’em look like the real ones, but they ain’t. The real ones, they cost a whole heap of money. This copy, it’s much cheaper. They call it a Tribute Chronograph, tryin’ to be all fancy and such. Tryin’ to make it like those old watches, but it ain’t the same. Real ones got all sorts of fancy stuff, like calendars, they can tell time in the stars or somethin’, and got that spiny thing, a tourbillon.
This copy, it just tells time. And it’s got that flippy thing, the reversible case. But it ain’t the same as the real deal. This copy got this strap, they say it’s special. Made by some fancy folks called Casa Fagliano. Probably just regular leather to me, but they gotta make it sound special, I guess.
This copy got this thing inside, they call it a Calibre 860. It’s what makes the watch tick. They say it’s based on some other thing they made a long time ago, Calibre 829. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds important, I guess.
Still a watch, I guess
So, this imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s a watch. It tells time. It’s got that flippy case. It looks kinda like the real ones, but it ain’t. If you want a watch that looks fancy but don’t wanna spend a fortune, maybe this is for you.
They got other ones too, these copies. One they call the Reverso Classic Large Duoface. It’s another copy of a JLC watch. This one don’t have that chronograph thing, though, that stopwatch thingy. Just tells time on both sides, I reckon.
The real ones are expensive
The real Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, they expensive. They got this one, the Reverso Grande Complication Triptyque, they say it’s worth a hundred thousand dollars! Can you believe that? For a watch! This copy, it ain’t nowhere near that much.
They make ’em out of gold, the real ones. This one is pink gold, they call it. They got other ones made of steel, but the gold ones, they cost more, of course. They say these Reverso and Master watches, they’re special. People want ’em, so they cost more.
It is just a copycat
This imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s just a copy. It’s like wearin’ a fake dress to a fancy party. It looks kinda right, but everyone knows it ain’t the real thing. But if you don’t care about that, and you just want a watch that looks kinda fancy, then maybe it’s alright. This one ain’t gonna fool nobody who knows about real watches, though. They can tell the difference.
But hey, it’s your money. You wanna spend it on a copycat watch, that’s your business. Just don’t go around pretendin’ it’s a real Jaeger-LeCoultre, ’cause it ain’t. It’s just a copy, a pretty good one, maybe, but still just a copy. This Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s tryin’ to be somethin’ it ain’t. Just like a lot of things in this world, I guess. It is just tryin’ to look classic and it looks like an old style watch.
