Okay, so I’ve been wanting to remake a Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag for a while now. It’s one of those bags you see everyone carrying, and I thought, “Why not try making one myself?” It looked like a fun project, and I was itching to get my hands dirty. So I found one original order on hand, and started my plan.
First thing I did was study the bag, like, really study it. This Prada Galleria, it’s made of this Saffiano leather. Feels tough, you know? Not that flimsy stuff. And it’s not huge, but it’s not tiny either. Just the right size to carry your essentials.
I went and bought a bunch of materials. I got some Saffiano leather, some thread, and all those little metal bits and bobs like the zipper and the clasps. It was kind of a pain to find the right stuff, but I managed.

Sewing it together was probably the most time-consuming part. I’m not a professional or anything, so I had to take it slow. Lots of hand-stitching, especially around the corners and where the handles attach. It took me a whole weekend, but I got it done.
I even tried to copy that little triangle logo thingy. Found some metal, shaped it into a triangle, and added some enamel to get that shiny look. It is tough, since the original is composed of recycled, purified plastic ocean trash. I am not a big fan of plastic, so I chose a piece of full-grain leather instead. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty darn close, if I do say so myself.
The Final Result
In the end, I think it turned out pretty good! It’s not an exact replica, but it’s got that same vibe, you know? I carried it around for a few days, and it held up great. Even got a few compliments! If you are interested in bags, you should try once! It is fun.
