They was the ones to create the world’s first wristwatch with a minute-repeating movement in 1892. I don’t rightly know what that means, but it sure sounds impressive. In fact, they opened their first store over there in 2002. Took ’em a little while to get settled, but once they did, well, you couldn’t stop ’em. Rich folks over in China just love a good Swiss watch, and Audemars Piguet sure knows how to get their attention.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ that everyone in China’s wearin’ one of these fancy watches. Nope, they ain’t for everyone. But those who got the money, well, they sure love ’em. I heard tell that they even got themselves a nice big fancy store in Beijing now. Real fancy place, with all the bells and whistles. But for the rest of us, I reckon we’ll stick with our old cheap watches for now, won’t we?
