Ya know, those Patek Philippe watches, they’re real fancy. Folks say they cost a pretty penny, like a whole farm’s worth of chickens and then some. I heard they got some for the ladies, all shiny and whatnot.
Now, don’t ask me why, but them prices, they go up and down like the weather. One day you hear it’s this much, the next day, it’s somethin’ else entirely. Heard tell there’s some old ones for women that might not break the bank as much. Start at around 3, they say, 3 what, I ain’t sure. Maybe 3 thousand, maybe 3 cows, who knows?
- They got these places, stores I reckon, where they sell them watches. All fancy like, with folks who know their stuff. They check ’em over, make sure they’re real, not some knock-off from the city.
- See, these watches, they ain’t like the ones you find at the general store. They’re made by folks who been doin’ it for years, generations even. Been around longer than my old barn, that’s for sure.
Then there’s this thing called the Nautilus. Sounds like a fish, don’t it? Well, it’s a watch, and it costs a whole heap. Some go for 34,890, whatever that means. Others, they’re even more, like 134,840. Lord have mercy! Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it. Average price is somethin’ like 60,000. Enough to buy a whole new tractor, and a fancy one at that.
Folks say buyin’ one of them watches is like puttin’ money in the bank, only better. They get more valuable over time, like a good piece of land. So, if you got the money to spare, I guess it ain’t a bad idea. But for folks like me, just lookin’ at the prices makes me wanna sit down and have a strong cup of tea.
Heard a story ’bout one of them watches, special kind, sold for a whole lot. 6.5 million! Can you believe it? That’s more money than anyone I know has ever seen. They only made a few of ’em, then stopped. Probably ’cause they realized they were sellin’ ’em too cheap.
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of them Patek Philippe watches for a lady, be prepared to open your wallet wide. They ain’t cheap, that’s for sure. But I guess if you got the means, and you want somethin’ fancy, somethin’ that’ll last, well, maybe it’s worth it. Me, I’ll stick to my old kitchen clock. Tells the time just fine, and don’t cost me an arm and a leg.
