My goodness, ain’t that a fancy name, this “patek philippe 5235.” Sounds like something a rich fella would wear. Now, I ain’t no expert, but I reckon I can tell you a thing or two ’bout what I heard.
See, they tell me this here watch, it’s got somethin’ they call an “annual calendar.” Don’t rightly know what that means, but I reckon it keeps track of the days and months, like. They say it even knows when the moon’s full. Imagine that! A watch that knows about the moon!
This watch, it ain’t new, no sir. They been makin’ ’em since, what, 2011? And they made a white gold one first. White gold, sounds cold, don’t it? Like a winter mornin’. But now they got one in somethin’ they call “rose gold.” That sounds warmer, like sunshine on your face.
This “patek philippe 5235R,” that’s the rose gold one, they say it’s bigger, more… imposin’ than the white one. And it’s got a funny face, with them little dials all over. One for the hours, one for the seconds, like little eyes starin’ back at ya.
- And the back! They say there’s marks on the back that tell ya it’s real.
- Like “750” for gold, meanin’ it’s 18k gold.
- And “950” for platinum, meanin’ it’s mostly platinum.
Now, folks argue about these fancy watches, compare ’em to other names. “Rolex,” they say. Ain’t never seen one of them myself, but I reckon they’re fancy too. Some folks like the old ways, they say, the “heritage” and “tradition” of these “patek philippe” watches. Others just want somethin’ shiny and expensive, don’t care about the old ways.
And get this, if you buy one used, you can tell them folks online you own it! You gotta tell ’em all sorts of numbers, like the watch’s “reference” and “movement” and “case number.” Sounds like a whole lotta fuss just to tell ’em you got a watch, if you ask me.
This “patek philippe 5235,” it’s got all sorts of fancy words attached to it, like “grand complications” and “tourbillon.” Don’t rightly know what they mean, but it sure sounds complicated! Like fixin’ a tractor engine, all them little parts and whatnot.
This dial, they say it’s “graphite-gray and black.” Sounds like a cloudy day to me! And it’s got a “vertical brushed grain.” Like brushin’ a horse’s mane, maybe? I reckon it’s all to make it look pretty, all fancy-like.
And this size, they say it’s “40.5 x 10.0 millimeters.” Don’t rightly know what that means in inches, but I reckon it ain’t too big, ain’t too small. Just right for a fella’s wrist, I suppose.
They even talk about the “chronograph” part of it. Don’t rightly know what that is, but I reckon it’s got somethin’ to do with keepin’ time real precise-like. Like countin’ seconds, maybe? For racin’ or somethin’.
So there you have it, what I heard about this “patek philippe 5235.” Fancy watch for fancy folks, I reckon. But it’s all a bit too complicated for me. Give me a good ol’ clock with numbers on it any day!
