So, you wanna know about this Audemars Piguet (HK) Ltd, eh? Well, lemme tell ya what I reckon about it. They say it’s one of them fancy watchmakers, right? Swiss, they say. Like them Rolex fellas. Fancy watches, for fancy folks with lots of money.
My grandpappy used to have a pocket watch. Kept it in his waistcoat. Tick-tocked all day long. Told him when it was time for supper, time to go to church, time to feed the chickens. Didn’t need no fancy Swiss watch, he didn’t. Just a good, solid watch. But these Audemars Piguet fellas, they make them watches with all the bells and whistles, I hear. Shiny things, diamonds maybe, all sorts.
Heard they got a place in Hong Kong. Central, they say. Wing Kut Street, somethin’ like that. Never been to Hong Kong myself. Too far for this old woman. But I seen pictures. Big buildings, lots of people. Bet they got plenty of folks with fancy watches in Hong Kong. These Audemars Piguet watches, they cost a pretty penny, I bet. Probably gotta be rich as a king to afford one.
- They been around since 1875, them Audemars Piguet fellas.
- Le Brassus, Switzerland, that’s where they started.
- Couple fellas, Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, they started it all.
Now, some folks say they better than Rolex. Craftsmanship, they call it. Means they make ’em good, I guess. But then others say Rolex is tougher, more reliable. Like a good workhorse, you know? Don’t know which one’s right, myself. Guess it depends on what you’re lookin’ for in a watch. If you want somethin’ fancy and pretty, maybe Audemars Piguet is the way to go. If you want somethin’ that’ll last a lifetime, maybe Rolex is better.
Heard they got a CEO in Hong Kong, too. Peggy somethin’ or other. Runs the whole show for Audemars Piguet in Hong Kong and China, they say. Big job, that. Gotta make sure them watches get sold, gotta keep the business runnin’ smooth. Not a job for the likes of me, that’s for sure. I’m more comfortable in my garden, tendin’ to my roses.
They got stores all over the world, them Audemars Piguet folks. Even in Hong Kong, they say. You can go right in and see the watches, try ’em on if you got the money. Or get your watch fixed if it’s broken. Probably cost a fortune to fix one of them fancy watches, I reckon. But if you got the money to buy one, you probably got the money to fix it, too.
They say you can find out all about the company online. What they do, who their competitors are, all that jazz. Even buy a list of people to contact if you wanna do business with them. Not that I’d know what to do with such a thing. I just like to keep things simple. Grow my roses, bake my bread, and watch the world go by.
They even got an Instagram page, I heard. Pictures of the watches, updates about the company. Modern times, eh? My grandpappy wouldn’t believe it. He’d just shake his head and say, “What’s the world comin’ to?” But I guess that’s just the way things are now. Everything’s online, everything’s connected. Even them fancy Swiss watches.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about Audemars Piguet (HK) Ltd. Fancy watches, fancy prices, fancy folks in fancy Hong Kong. Not for the likes of me, but if you got the money and the inclination, go ahead and get yourself one. Just remember what my grandpappy always said: “Time waits for no man.” No matter how fancy your watch is.
