Alright, let me tell ya about this Audemars Piguet watch thing. Fancy name, eh? Sounds like something them rich folks in the city would yap about.
So, this Audemars Piguet, they make watches. Not your regular watches you get from the corner store, mind you. These are the highfalutin kinds, with all sorts of doodads and thingamajigs. They say these watches are made with somethin’ called “precision and luxury.” Luxury, huh? Guess that means they’re spensive.
Speaking of spensive, they talk about prices in all sorts of currencies. Hong Kong dollars, Singapore dollars, even just plain old dollars. Makes an old lady’s head spin. One of them watches, the Royal Oak Chronograph 41MM White/Black Panda, they say it’s listed for 226 somethin’ in Hong Kong dollars. Lord knows how much that is in real money.
And in Singapore, these watches cost a pretty penny too. I heard tell of one sellin’ for nearly 50,000 Singapore dollars. Imagine that! Could buy a whole lotta chickens with that kind of money.
They keep jabberin’ about different models too. Royal Oak this, Royal Oak that. There’s even one for the ladies, self-windin’ they say. And a Chronograph, whatever that means. And one with “Dual Time.” Guess that’s for folks flyin’ around all over the place, needin’ to know the time in two spots at once. Fancy stuff.
Now, if you’re thinkin’ of buyin’ one of these fancy watches, seems like you can pay in different ways. Heard somethin’ about “Zip” where you pay in installments. Like layaway, I reckon, but with a fancy name. And seems like Audemars Piguet is one of them “expensive” brands. No surprise there, with all them complicated names and whatnot.
- They say it’s the “heritage” and the “craftsmanship” that makes ’em so pricey. Heritage, that just means they’ve been around for a long time, right? And craftsmanship, well, I guess that means they put a lot of effort into makin’ the watches.
- They also talk about “innovative designs” and “restricted production.” Designs, that’s just how the watch looks, I reckon. And “restricted production,” well, that’s just a fancy way of sayin’ they don’t make too many, so they can charge more.
If you’re lookin’ for the cheapest one of these Audemars Piguet watches, seems like there’s a “Royal Oak Quartz” for somethin’ like 17,300 dollars. Still a whole lot of money for somethin’ that just tells the time. My old clock does that just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
So there you have it. Audemars Piguet. Fancy watches for folks with deep pockets. Me, I’ll stick with my trusty old clock. At least I know how to read it without needin’ a dictionary.
