Well, lemme tell ya about them fancy watches, the Audemars Piguet, or whatever they call it. People say they’re real good, but boy, are they pricey! I heard you can even pay monthly for ’em, like them installment plans they got at the furniture store.
Now, about the price in the USA, it’s a whole lotta money. They say the cheapest ones still cost a fortune, more than what I paid for my old truck! I heard there’s a list of the cheapest ones somewhere, but even those are outta my reach.
What makes these watches so expensive? I don’t really get it. They’re made in some fancy place called Switzerland, where all them expensive watches come from. Folks say they’re real precise and all, but my old kitchen clock tells time just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
- They say the really cheap ones are quartz, whatever that means. Something about batteries, I guess.
- Then there’s the ones with the “mechanical movement,” them’s even pricier. Something about gears and springs, like them old wind-up clocks my grandma used to have.
Folks keep talkin’ about Rolex, too. Apparently, they’re another fancy watch brand, but they say Audemars Piguet is even more expensive! Can you believe it? More money than a Rolex! I can’t even imagine spending that much on a watch. What’s wrong with a good ol’ Timex from Walmart?
I saw some folks talkin’ about buyin’ used Audemars Piguet watches. They say you can get ’em cheaper that way. Something about “pre-owned” and a place called “The RealReal.” Sounds fishy to me. Buying someone else’s old watch? Nah, I’d rather save my money for somethin’ useful, like a new set of pots and pans.
They say the prices change dependin’ on all sorts of things. Like what it’s made of, how fancy it looks, and how many of ’em they made. Apparently, if they only made a few, it’s worth a whole lot more. Go figure.
I also saw some folks talkin’ about buyin’ these watches online. Said there’s lots of shops sellin’ ’em, some even with free shippin’ and returns. But I don’t trust that internet stuff. Too easy to get scammed. I’d rather buy somethin’ I can see and touch with my own hands.
Anyways, that’s all I know about them fancy Audemars Piguet watches. They’re expensive, real expensive. And they come from Switzerland. And you can buy ’em used, if you’re into that sorta thing. Me, I’ll stick with my kitchen clock. It tells time just fine, and it didn’t cost me a fortune.
