Well, lookie here, talkin’ ’bout them fancy watches, the ones with the long names, Audemars Piguet and all that. Folks be chatterin’ ’bout ’em online, on that Reddit thingy. Prices and such, all confusing like.
Now, they say these watches, they ain’t cheap. One fella was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout twenty-five thousand dollars! My goodness, that’s a whole lotta money. Could buy a nice tractor for that, or a whole herd of cows!
- But folks still want ’em, these shiny tick-tock things. They say they’re special, made in small batches, like my grandma’s homemade jam.
- Not like them other ones, Rolex, they call ’em. Guess them Rolexes are easier to come by, like store-bought bread.
This one fella, he was complainin’ ’bout not gettin’ a Rolex. Went to all sorts of shops, they say. Fancy shops, I reckon. Still couldn’t get his hands on one. Serves him right, maybe. Always wantin’ what ya can’t have.
Then there’s this other watch, Patek Philippe. Another long name. Folks say it’s even pricier than that Audemars Piguet. More doodads and thingamajigs on it, I guess. Makes it cost more, they say.
But this one Audemars Piguet, the Jumbo somethin’ or other, folks seem to like it real well. Said it’s real pretty, all shiny and whatnot. But gettin’ one, that’s a whole ‘nother story. Long waitlists, they say. And prices that’d make your hair stand on end!
They was talkin’ ’bout a small one, 34 millimeters, whatever that means. Still cost a pretty penny, but least it’s cheaper than the others. Like buyin’ a smaller pie, I suppose. Still tastes good, just not as much of it.
Seems like folks are always wantin’ what they can’t afford. Fancy watches, fast cars, big houses. Me, I’m happy with my little place, a warm cup of tea, and a good book. Don’t need no fancy watches to tell me the time of day.
But I reckon if you got the money to spend, and you like them shiny tick-tocks, go right ahead. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you can’t pay your bills!
They say these watches, they’re investments. Like buyin’ land, or gold. Maybe so, maybe not. I ain’t no expert, just an old woman with some common sense. But I’d rather have somethin’ I can use, somethin’ that makes my life easier. Not some fancy watch that just sits on my wrist and tells me what time it is.
But hey, to each their own, I always say. If you like them Audemars Piguets, with their long names and high prices, more power to ya. Just remember, money can’t buy happiness. And time, well, time keeps on tickin’, no matter what kind of watch you got.
