Now, listen here, I’m gonna tell ya ’bout somethin’ fancy, somethin’ that most folks like us don’t really think too much about. But it sure is somethin’ to marvel at! I’m talkin’ ‘bout them Audemars Piguet watches. They’ve been around since 1875, that’s a long time, ya know? Started by two men – Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet, and them fellas set out to make the finest watches there ever was. Their watches aren’t like the ones you pick up at the market, no sir! These here are somethin’ special.
Now, if you’ve ever seen an Audemars Piguet watch, you know right away it’s got class. I’m tellin’ ya, even the rich folks like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Schumacher, they wear ‘em. You can tell just by lookin’ that it’s somethin’ that says, “I’ve made it.” And the first time they really got fancy with it was back in 1972. That’s when they made the Royal Oak, a sports watch made of steel. Yep, it was somethin’ new, and folks couldn’t get enough of it.
Now, these watches, they ain’t cheap. Nope, you won’t find ‘em for the price of a cow or a sack of potatoes. A Royal Oak Offshore, one of the most sought-after ones, can cost ya anywhere from 32,000 euros if it’s the steel version, up to 90,000 euros if it’s made of gold. That’s a whole lotta money, but I reckon if you’ve got it, you might as well flaunt it. Ain’t no harm in that.
Let me tell ya, them watches ain’t just pretty, they’re built to last. Each one’s got a number on it, and they keep track of where it’s been and who’s worked on it. That way, if somethin’ happens to it, they know exactly how to fix it up right. You got service centers all over the place, and they make sure that your watch stays in tip-top shape. It’s like takin’ your old tractor to the mechanic, only this time, it’s a watch and it’s real expensive!
Now, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but back in 2022, Jasmine Audemars, she stepped down from her role as chairwoman of the company after 30 years. That’s a long time, isn’t it? But she still keeps her position with the Audemars Piguet Foundation. And the Audemars family, they’re still runnin’ the show, keepin’ the tradition alive. Olivier Audemars, one of the descendants, he’s still part of the team, representin’ the family. They sure know how to keep things movin’ forward.
Speaking of movin’ forward, Audemars Piguet’s always comin’ out with new designs and ideas. They don’t rest on their laurels, no ma’am. They’ve got a whole team that’s constantly workin’ to create new and better watches. You won’t find no old-fashioned stuff here. No sir, it’s all about stayin’ ahead of the times. They’ve even been messin’ around with different materials, like gold and steel, and addin’ diamonds to make things look even fancier. Fancy stuff, that’s for sure.
And if you look at some of the special editions they’ve made, you’ll see they don’t just slap a couple of jewels on there and call it a day. They think about it long and hard. Some of their models have been changed over the years, with diamonds added to the bezel, and they keep track of all them changes so you know exactly what you’re gettin’. Can’t say that about just any watch, now can ya?
All in all, Audemars Piguet is one of them brands that’s got it all. They’ve been makin’ watches for over a hundred years, and they’re still goin’ strong. They’re high-class, high-quality, and always stayin’ ahead of the curve. If you ever get the chance to buy one, I’d say go for it – but you better be ready to spend a pretty penny. Ain’t no such thing as a cheap Audemars Piguet. But if you got the money, you’ll have a piece of history on your wrist, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of.
