Well, you wanna know about Audemars Piguet, huh? Fancy name, ain’t it?
Alright, lemme tell ya what I know, or what I heard, really. It’s some watch company, they make them fancy watches, the ones rich folks wear. Not like my old Timex, no sir. These Audemars Piguet watches, they come from Switzerland, you know, the place with all the mountains and cheese? Yep, that’s where they make ’em.
Audemars Piguet… sounds like two fellas, right? And that’s just what it is, two guys started it, way back in the olden days. 1875, they say. Audemars and Piguet, their names were. Guess they couldn’t think of nothin’ better to call it! They built their shop in a little village called Le Brassus, in some valley with a long name, Vallée de Joux, somethin’ like that.
- They still there, you know, the company. Still in that same village, run by the family. Ain’t that somethin’? Kept it in the family all these years. Must be good watches if they still makin’ ’em.
Now, these watches, they ain’t cheap. Gotta have a lotta dough to buy one. They put a number on each one, a special number, see? On the back, where it sits on your wrist. So you know it’s yours, I guess. Can’t be mixin’ up them fancy watches, now can ya?
And if you gotta find them, they got an address. In France, they do. In Paris, that big city with the tower. 4 Rue Halevy, it is. Something, nine, something. Don’t remember all them numbers. But they got a website too, you know, on that internet thing. . Fancy stuff, that internet. Don’t rightly know how it works, but I hear you can find all sorts of things on it.
They got another place too, headquarters, they call it. Back in Switzerland, in that same little village, Le Brassus. Route de France, number 16. Or maybe it’s New York, some folks say. Confusin’, all these places. But if you wanna write ’em or call ’em, they got a phone number and all.
If you buy one of their watches, and you move house, you gotta tell ’em. They wanna know where you at. Gotta make sure you ain’t runnin’ off with their watch, I reckon. They gotta check who you are, make sure you ain’t stealin’ it or somethin’.
And if you wanna know more, you gotta look it up on the internet. Lots of info there, they say. All about the company and their watches. How much money they make, how many folks work there. Lots and lots of stuff. Too much for my old brain, that’s for sure. But if you like fancy watches, you might wanna take a look.
