Alright, let me tell ya about this Audemars Piguet thingy, ya know, the watch folks. They call it “AP” for short now, easier on the tongue, I guess. Folks started it way back, real long time ago, 1875 they say. Two fellas, Jules somethin’ and Edward somethin’ else. Kids, they were, when they decided to make watches.
- Jules, he was 24, Edward a bit younger at 22. Young’uns startin’ a business, imagine that!
- Out in some place called Valle de Joux, never heard of it myself. Fancy name though, huh?
They got together, started makin’ watches. Good ones, too, seems like. People talk about how fancy they are, “craftsmanship” they call it. Don’t know much ’bout that, but sounds good, right? 1881 they named it Audemars Piguet and somethin’ else, Cie I think. Been family run ever since, all these years.
Now, they made a special watch for China, a big deal it was. Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar China Limited Edition, rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? First time they made one all outta titanium. Strong stuff, that titanium. Only made 88 of ’em, lucky number in China, I hear.
Folks always askin’ which is better, AP or Rolex. Like askin’ if apples or oranges are better. Depends what you like, I say. AP, they make ’em real fancy, like art pieces. Rolex, they strong, keep tickin’ no matter what. Pick your poison, I say.
People talk about AP bein’ founded in China, but that ain’t right. These fellas, Jules and Edward, they started in that fancy valley place. But they made special watches for China, see? That’s where folks get mixed up. Not their fault, easy to get things wrong.
1875, remember that year. That’s when it all started. Two kids with a dream, makin’ watches. Now look at ’em, all famous. Shows you can do anything if you set your mind to it, even if you’re just a couple of young’uns from a valley I can’t even pronounce.
So, that’s the story, as best as I can tell ya. AP watches, fancy stuff. Started long ago by two fellas with a dream. Made a special one for China, all titanium and special. And folks still askin’ if it’s better than Rolex. Life’s full of questions, ain’t it?
