You can find all sorts of prices, some high, some not so high, but still high enough to make your head spin. I seen numbers like $23,000, $53,000, even $85,000! Goodness gracious!
They also say there’s this other place, Bob’s Watches, where you can find used ones. Used! And they still cost a fortune! But they say they’re real, not fake, like them shiny apples they sell at the market, all polished up but no taste. These watches, they say, they keep their value.
Why are they so expensive, you ask? Well, they say it takes a lot of work to make ’em. Lots of folks fussin’ over ’em, polishin’ and fixin’ and doin’ all sorts of things. Takes time, they say. Time is money, I suppose. Just like it takes time to bake a good pie, gotta get the crust just right, the filling sweet and tangy. But these watches, they take even more time, I hear. They say these watches, they’re rare. Not like chickens, we got plenty of them. But these watches, they ain’t so common. And folks like things that are hard to find, makes ’em feel special, I guess. Like findin’ a four-leaf clover in the field. Makes you smile, even if it don’t change much.
So, is it hard to buy one of these fancy watches? Well, they say no. There’s plenty around, if you got the money. But here’s the kicker, they cost a whole lot more than they’re supposed to. Like four times more! Imagine payin’ four times for a dozen eggs! Highway robbery, I tell ya! But folks do it, they say, ’cause these watches are all the rage, all the hype. Makes ya wonder, don’t it?
So, that’s what I heard about these Patek Philippe Nautilus watches for ladies. Fancy, expensive, and all the rage. Me? I’ll stick with my old clock, tells time just fine, and don’t cost me an arm and a leg. But if you got money to burn, well, go ahead, get yourself one of them shiny watches.
