Listen, I ain’t got all the fancy words for these things, but I’ll tell ya what I know about that Audemars Piguet, or whatever you call it, the one they got in China now. Started there, what, not too long ago? Someone said 2020, January, yeah, that’s right. They made somethin’ special for them folks over there, somethin’ fancy with all them gears and whatnot. Lucky number 88, they made, ain’t that somethin’? Guess they like that number over there.
Now, these watches, they ain’t cheap. Heard tell they’re more money than them Rolex things. You know, the ones the rich fellas wear. These Audemars, they’re for the really rich fellas, I reckon. Gotta have a whole lotta money to buy one of them. They say it’s ’cause they’re made real good, with fancy parts and all. Don’t lose their money neither, they say. You buy one, you can sell it later for pretty much what you paid, maybe more.
This one they made for China, it’s got all them little wheels and springs inside, you can see ’em right through the watch. Someone told me they call it a “skeleton” watch. Like a bone watch? I dunno, sounds spooky to me. But it looks nice, all shiny and complicated. Got a big name too, Royal Oak somethin’ somethin’. Sounds important, like somethin’ a king would wear, eh?
- China office bag, dunno what that means exactly. Maybe they give you a bag when you buy one? Like a fancy grocery bag, but for watches? Wouldn’t that be somethin’? A special bag just for your fancy watch.
- Price in Shenzhen, well, that’s where they sell ’em in China, I guess. Shenzhen, big city, lots of money there. Gotta be rich to live there, just like you gotta be rich to buy one of them watches.
- Founding date, well, that’s just when they started sellin’ ’em in China. Not too long ago, like I said. But the company, they been around longer, I think. Making watches for rich folks all over, I reckon.
Don’t know why anyone would spend so much money on a watch, but hey, to each their own. If you got the money, you can spend it on whatever you want. Fancy watches, fancy cars, fancy houses. Me? I’m happy with my old clock on the wall. Tells me the time just fine, and it didn’t cost me a fortune.
So, if you’re in China and you got a whole lotta money, you can go look for that Audemars Piguet watch. But if you’re like me, you can just admire it from afar. It’s a fancy thing, that’s for sure. And who knows, maybe someday they’ll make one with a picture of a cat on it. Now that would be somethin’ I might buy!
