Ya know, them fancy watches, they got names I can’t even say right. This Audy-mars Pig-wet or somethin’, they say it’s a big deal. Been around since, lemme think, 1800s? Like, 1875, they say. Folks back then, they started this thing, makin’ watches. I heard it was two fellas, Audy-mars and Pig-wet, musta been friends or somethin’.
These watches, they ain’t cheap, lemme tell ya. They cost a whole lot, like, thousands and thousands of dollars. Some folks say they worth it, ’cause they fancy, they got all them little parts inside, workin’ like magic. But me, I dunno, seems like a lot for somethin’ that just tells time. My ol’ clock on the wall does that just fine, and it didn’t cost no farm.
- Fancy Name, Big Money: They call it “Audemars Piguet,” sounds like somethin’ royalty would wear. And the prices? Whew, they make your head spin.
- Old as Dirt: Started way back in 1875. That’s a long, long time ago. Guess they know what they doin’ after all them years.
- Family Thing: I heard it’s still run by the same family. That’s kinda nice, keepin’ it in the family, ya know.
They got this one watch, “Royal Oak,” they say it’s popular. Costs like, what was it? Forty-somethin’ thousand dollars? For a watch! Can ya believe it? What’s so special about it, I wonder. Does it cook dinner too? Haha, just kiddin’. But seriously, that’s a lot of money.
They say some of these watches, they get more valuable over time. Like, you buy ’em now, and later they worth more. But not all of ’em, just some special ones. Like antiques, I guess. My grandma had this old vase, said it was worth somethin’, but I dunno, just looked like an old vase to me.
Every watch they make, it got this number thing, letters and numbers mixed up. Like a secret code or somethin’. Makes it special, they say. One of a kind. Well, I guess if you spendin’ that much, it better be special.
Some of them watches, they cost like, four thousand dollars. That’s still a lot, but compared to the others, it’s like a bargain, haha. And then there’s the super fancy ones, costin’ hundreds of thousands. Can’t even imagine havin’ that kinda money to spend on a watch. Must be nice, bein’ rich.
So, this Audy-mars Pig-wet, they been makin’ these watches for a long time. Fancy, expensive, and they say they good quality. But me, I’ll stick with my ol’ clock. Tells time just fine, and it don’t make my head spin thinkin’ about how much it cost.
Anyways, that’s what I heard about these watches. Fancy names, big money, and been around forever. If you got the cash, I guess you can buy one. Me? I’ll just stick to lookin’ at ’em in the magazines, haha.
