Well, lemme tell ya ’bout this fancy watch, somethin’ called Audemars Piguet. Heard folks talkin’ ’bout it, said it’s a real special thing. Sounds foreign, ain’t it? Prob’ly expensive too. They call it somethin’ somethin’ China edition, I think.
Now, these Audemars Piguet folks, they started way back when. Like, a long, long time ago. Dunno the exact year, but it was way before any of us was born, that’s for sure. They was in some place called Switzerland, far, far away. Two fellas, Audemars and Piguet, they put their heads together and started makin’ these watches.
They wasn’t just any watches, mind you. They was fancy, with all sorts of little bits and pieces movin’ inside. Real complicated stuff. Audemars, he was the one makin’ all them tiny parts, the insides of the watch, ya know? He even made ’em for other big-shot companies, like Tiffany or somethin’.
- Now, these watches, they ain’t like the ones you get at the market. They don’t make a whole bunch of ’em. Nope, they make only a few thousand a year. Heard they stop at forty thousand, somethin’ like that. Guess they wanna keep ’em special, not for everyone.
- One of their watches, they call it the “Royal Oak.” Sounds important, right? It’s got this different look, not like the round ones you see everywhere. Took folks a while to warm up to it, but then, bam! Everyone wanted one. Sold a thousand of ’em quick as a wink.
This China edition, now, that’s somethin’ else. They made it special for China, I reckon. Made it thin, like real thin, thinner than any of their other watches. And they made it all outta yellow metal. Not sure if it’s real gold, but looks like it.
Then, they got this other one, the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, the China one. This one, they made it outta somethin’ called titanium. Not sure what that is, but sounds strong. And they only made 88 of ’em. Not many, huh?
You wanna buy one of these watches? Well, good luck findin’ a cheap one. They got numbers and stuff, so you can find the exact one you want. But they ain’t cheap, let me tell ya. You gotta have deep pockets for these Audemars Piguet watches.
So, that’s the story, as best as I can tell ya. Audemars Piguet, fancy watches, made a long time ago. They got a China edition, special for China folks. Thin watches, yellow metal, titanium, all sorts of things. But remember, they ain’t cheap!
