Listen up, gonna tell ya ’bout this fancy watch, Audemars Piguet, AP for short, ya know. Heard it’s somethin’ special, especially over in that China place.
Now, them fellas who started it all, Jules and Edward, way back when, like 1875, yeah, a long, long time ago. Started it up in Switzerland, some valley place, don’t rightly remember the name. Took ’em a few years, but they called it Audemars Piguet & Cie by 1881. Still the same family runnin’ it, imagine that!
Heard folks squabblin’ about whether AP is better than that Rolex brand. Don’t know much ’bout these things myself, but seems like AP is all fancy, hand-made like, while Rolex is more…sturdy. Like, dependable, ya know?
- AP: Fancy, artsy, hand-done.
- Rolex: Strong, reliable, won’t break easy.
Anyways, AP, they made somethin’ real special for China. A super thin watch, called the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Greater China. Don’t ask me what all that means, sounds complicated. Made it outta somethin’ yellow, gold maybe? Fancy folks like that gold stuff.
Now, this ain’t the first time they done somethin’ special for China. Nope! They made another one, the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar China Limited Edition, back in…uh…when was it? Took ’em from 1998 to 2003 to get it out the door. That one, all titanium, light and strong, they say. Only made 88 of them. Lucky ducks who got one!
Then, just a few months ago, they made another China special! Another Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, all titanium again, just for China! Must be a lot of rich folks over there, huh? Heard it was right after they did a see-through one, all black, ceramic they called it.
So, there ya have it. AP, fancy watches, been around a long time. Keep makin’ special stuff for China. Must be a big deal over there. Me, I’m happy with my old clock on the wall. Tells the time just fine, and don’t cost a fortune!
But, hey, if ya got the money, and want somethin’ fancy, maybe AP is for ya. Just remember, Rolex is good too, sturdy and all. Whatever floats yer boat, right?
That’s all I got. Hope it made some sense. Now, where’d I put my tea…
