So, you wanna know about Audemars Piguet, eh? Fancy name, ain’t it? It’s one of them high-falutin’ watch companies. Don’t ask me why they gotta make watches so expensive, but folks with money, they like ’em.
Now, when did they start up? Well, it was a long time ago, back in 1881. That’s when they made it all official. Two fellas, Audemars and Piguet, they got together. Probably had a good chat over some coffee or somethin’. They started this company in a place called Le Brassus. That’s in Switzerland, you know, where they make all them fancy watches and chocolates.
But wait, it started even before that. These two fellas, Audemars and Piguet, they knew each other as kids. Imagine that! Little tykes running around, probably didn’t know they’d be makin’ fancy watches together. They didn’t start workin’ together right away, though. It was in 1874 when they met up again. Then, they got the ball rollin’ and finally made it official in 1881, like I said.
What kinda watches they make?
Well, they make all sorts. Some with diamonds, some without. Some are big, some are small. But they’re all fancy. One they make is called the Royal Oak. It’s real popular. They also got somethin’ called the Royal Oak Offshore. Sounds like a boat or somethin’. And there’s a bunch more – Millenary, Jules Audemars, Code 11.59. Lots of names I can’t even pronounce!

They even made the first wristwatch that can chime the minutes. That was way back in 1892. A fella named Louis Brandt, he asked them to make it. He was the guy who started Omega watches, another fancy brand.
Where did they come from?
Like I said, they’re from Switzerland. A place called Le Brassus. Pretty place, I hear. Mountains and all. Probably got lots of cows there too, just like back home. But instead of milkin’ cows, these folks make watches. Fancy ones, at that.
Now, why do folks buy these watches? Well, I reckon it’s ’cause they got money to burn. And these watches, they last a long time. They’re like heirlooms, passed down from one generation to the next. Maybe your grandpappy wore one, and now you do too. Makes you feel special, I guess.
So, there ya have it. A bit about Audemars Piguet. Fancy watches from Switzerland. They started a long time ago, and they’re still makin’ them today. If you got the money, go ahead and buy one. Me? I’ll stick with my old clock on the wall. It tells the time just fine.
Why are they so expensive?
Well, they use good stuff to make ’em. Gold, diamonds, all sorts of fancy things. And they take a long time to make, I guess. Plus, that name, Audemars Piguet, it’s got a fancy ring to it, don’t it? You’re not just payin’ for the watch, you’re payin’ for the name too.
So, that’s the story. Audemars Piguet, fancy watchmakers from Switzerland. They started back in 1881, and they’re still goin’ strong. If you got the money, maybe you can get one too. But remember, it’s just a watch. It tells the time, just like any other clock.
