Junes☆Princess disbanding

In very sad idol news, it was announced on June 27th, 2016 through a post on their official blog that Idol group Junes☆Princess will be disbanding as well as that there are no plans for a disbanding live performance. Additionally, the post says that they apologize for the sudden announcement as well as thanking the fans for supporting them these past 3 short years as well as hoping for the continued support for the members.

Junes☆Princess formed back in 2013 with the concept of their group being that they’re ongoing growth idols. The released 4 singles in total, 3 in 2014 and the last one in 2015. As sad this piece of idol news is, it’s unfortunately something that happens quite often especially to lesser known, smaller groups… however the next piece of idol news a bit more positive.

New HKT48 Tour title revealed!

Tour Announcement

The official HKT48 blog announced on June 28th, 2016 that the title for the group’s upcoming Summer Hall Tour will be HTK leaving AKB48 group? Referendum Concert (HKTがAKB48グループを離脱?国民投票コンサート). This title is obviously in reference to the recent UK leaving the European Union referendum and in my opinion looks like it’s even kinda making fun of the referendum by naming the tour like that… needless to say, I was very conflicted when I saw this piece of idol news come out and still am…

The schedule for the upcoming tour is as follows:

  • July 12th, 2016 (18:30): Fukuoka Sunpalace Hall (Fukuoka)

DEATH CASE release new trailer!

Now in some drama related idol news, TBS posted on June 29th, 2016 a new trailer for their upcoming horror drama DEATH CASH (死幣). Unlike the teaser they released 2 weeks ago this trailer shows a lot more of what the drama will actually be about as well as the full cast and I’ll say, this sells me a lot more on the drama than the teaser did.

The synopsis for DEATH CASH states:

A number of strange deaths are connected to an urban legend, that there exists a cursed 10,000 yen bill, and whoever spends that 10,000 yen bill would die. SKE48 member Matsui Jurina plays university student Minami Yuka who can foresee the death of other people, and she will team-up with police detective (played by Totsugi Shigeyuki) to solve the mysterious “DEATH CASH” case.

DEATH CASH (死幣) will begin airing on July 13th, 2016.

Tokuyama Daigoro wo Dare ga Koroshitaka? releases a new trailer!

The official TV Tokyo YouTube channel posted on July 1st, 2016 a new trailer for the upcoming TV Drama Tokuyama Daigoro wo Dare ga Koroshitaka? (Who killed Tokuyama Daigoro?) which will be starting the members of Keyakizaka46. The trailer this time around gives us a good long look at the drama’s premise in which the Members of Keyakizaka46 need to figure out who killed their teacher Tokuyama Daigoro while also trying to hide the body to make sure nobody finds out about their teacher’s murder. Additionally, it shows the rest of cast who will be playing the school’s other teachers as well as some kind of out-of-place comedic moments.

Tokuyama Daigoro wo Dare ga Koroshitaka? will start airing on July 16th, 2016 (00:20 JST) and will feature Keyakizaka46‘s 2nd single Sekai ni wa Ai shika nai as it’s theme song with the single being released on August 10th, 2016.

1st LIVE announcement.

Additionally, it was announced through Lantis‘ official YouTube channel on the same day that the anime’s Opening Theme Song Aozora Jumping Heart will be released July 20th, 2016 and will include the coupling song Humming Friend as well as the instrumental versions of both songs. But that wasn’t the only thing Lantis announced the release date of.

Aozora Jumping Heart CD Cover

It was also announced through Lantis‘ official YouTube channel that the insert song at the end of the first episode which is sung by Aqours‘ second years titled Kimeta yo Hand in Hand will be released on August 3rd, 2016.

This week’s idol news was quite a mixed bag for me, from the announcement of a group’s disbandment as well as the title for HKT48‘s tour which both left me with quite a bad taste in my mouth after hearing about them. But then there was news like Kamen Rider GIRLS releasing a new single as well as Aqours finally getting their very own LIVE which both made me super excited. Like I said, this week was a mixed bag for me in terms of Idol News.
