As reported earlier, on June 9th, 2016 there was announcement released on AKB48‘s official website that stated that they will remove all SNH48 related advertisement as well as the SNH48 banner from their website, as well as that they needed to reconsider their status within the organization. In response to this announcement, on June 10th, 2016 SNH48‘s official website released a response to AKB48‘s announcement.

In the response SNH48 clarifies that they are their own fully independent Chinese local idol group, as well as a star-making group which is based on the Internet concept platform, so they did not take any breach-of-contract actions. SNH48‘s operations for the future will remain unchanged.

Where does SNH48 stand?

SNH48 further explain that when they announced the setup for their own 2 sister groups BEJ48 and GNZ48 on April 20th, 2016 they also announced their own original music strategy, this means that SNH48 will become completely original and will no longer be doing any official covers of popular AKB48 songs.

SNH48’s response

In addition, in response to the original announcement by AKB48, Former SNH48 & Original AKB48 Team K member, Miyazawa Sae took to twitter to comment on the matter.

In the tweet she wrote:

Even though I have graduated, and it is none of my business, I feel depressed.
It’s bad to not care about something that’s established. It’s bad to do a lot of things without permission.
Um…  I can not write any further about it.

Miyazawa joined the AKB48 group back in February, 2006 being a member of the Group’s 2nd Generation as well as it’s Original Team K. Miyazawa was promoted to SNH48‘s Team SII on November 11th, 2013 as well as starting a concurrent position on SKE48‘s Team S on February 24, 2014. She eventually graduated from SNH48 on March 16th, 2016 as well as graduating from SKE48 ,later that month on March 31, 2016.

The official AKB48 blog also released a post on June 10th, 2016 that AKB48 7th Generation member, Suzuki Mariya has ended her concurrent position on SNH48, which brings Suzuki back to be fully on AKB48‘s Team K.
