A brand new Resident Evil CG anime is coming and the first trailer is here!

The official website for Resident Evil: Vendetta (Biohazard: Vendetta) began streaming the first trailer for the film. It is the latest CG anime film based upon CAPCOM‘s Resident Evil (Biohazard) horror game franchise.

Correspondingly, the trailer was first shown at CAPCOM’s booth at Tokyo Game Show 2016. Promoted alongside the franchise’s upcoming game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The trailer also reveals that the movie will open in Japanese theatres in Spring 2017.

Resident Evil Returns to its Roots

Most notably, this is the third CG animated film in the franchise after Degeneration and Damnation. It will have an original story involving a mansion (like the original game), and features game characters Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy and Rebecca Chambers.

Rebecca is making her first canon reappearance in the franchise after last appearing the original Resident Evil game and its prequel Zero. Leon was the lead for both of the previous animated films whilst Chris is making his first CG movie appearance in Vendetta.

In addition, the movie is being animated at Marza Animation Planet. The staff includes CAPCOM producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi who will be supervising the film, director Takanori Tsujimoto, scriptwriter Makoto Fukami and music composer Kenji Kawai. While Juon: The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu is executive producing.

Lastly, in a collaboration between the film and Italian motorcycle company Ducati, Vendetta will feature a scene in which Leon fends off an enemy while riding Ducati’s newest model bike, the XDiavel.

Just some anime nerd and moviebuff who loves dubs and spends his time consuming way too much fiction. I may also have an evil doppelgänger who plans for world domination...
