The Konosuba Season 2 PV was released through Kadokawa’s YouTube Channel earlier today, and has given us a new key visual along with a start date for the series.

The first season of Konosuba (also known as KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!) aired in the last Winter season in 2016. It only aired for 10 episodes. The series followed protagonist, Kazuma, as he died and brought back to life in a strange new world. Along the way, he meets a few new, and rather odd, friends who help him in his pitiful journey.

Konosuba Season 2 … EXPLOSION!

Season 2 of Konosuba will start on January 11th, in the same Winter season as it aired last year. The staff from the original series is returning including;

  • Director: Takaomi Kanasaki
  • Character Designer/Chief Animation Director: Kouichi Kikuta
  • Series Composition: Makoto Uezu

With them also returns Machico doing the opening theme song and the voice actors doing the ending song.

The PV itself doesn’t show anything new about the series and only has a voice over from Kazuma telling his parents that he’s okay. That’s a bit sad as I’m looking forward to whatever weird and strange faces this wonderful cast of characters will give us in this season. But hey, gotta save something for the actual show…

It is a tiny bit of a worry that at this stage of the production all that’s shown off is a key visual. Though it’s only October, and the animators have until January to make sure Konosuba is on schedule… That’s not too long, right?

In any case, are you excited by the trailer? Are you looking forward to more Konosuba? I know I am! It was one of my favourite shows from the Winter season and I was delighted at the news of a season 2! Let us know down below or on our social media (Facebook, Twitter).
