AKB48‘s 3rd sister group HKT48 which is based in Hakata, Fukuoka, announced today on their official website as well as during today’s HTK leaving AKB48 group? Referendum Concert Summer Hall Tour performance, that they aren’t being left out of the summer single release party and are indeed releasing their 8th single!

HKT48‘s 8th single’s title has unfortunately yet to be announced. However, the single’s line-up was revealed with the Center being Matsuoka Hana which will make this her first time acting as the Center in a Single. HKT48‘s 8th single will be released on September 7th, 2016 and will have a total of 3 Types (A, B & C) however there will be Regular as well as Limited Editions of the Types. The full line-up for the single is as follows:

  • Tanaka Yuuka
  • Oota Aika
  • Inoue Yuriya
  • Fuchigami Mai
  • Tashima Meru
  • Moriyasu Madoka
  • Koujina Yui
  • Motomura Aoi
  • Matsuoka Natsumi
  • Tanaka Miku
  • Tomonaga Mio
  • Yabuki Nako
  • Kodama Haruka
  • Sashihara Rino
  • Miyawaki Sakura
  • Matsuoka Hana, CENTER

It’s quite interesting that Matsuoka will act as the Center for this single considering she was originally a Baito AKB member who joined back in October, 2014 who after graduating from being a Baito AKB was shifted into becoming an AKB48 Group Draft Kaigi 2015 Finalist at the beginning of March 1st, 2015 and then finally got drafted into HKT48 becoming an HKT48 Kenkyuusei(Trainee Member/Research Student) on March 10th, 2015. Additionally, she only got promoted to being a full time member on HKT‘s Team TII on March 30th, 2016 which just adds to how interesting it is that Matsuoka‘s gonna be the Center for this new single. Maybe they’re gonna start pushing her?

HKT48 was initially announced back at the end of October, 2011 while they made their debut the following month on November 26th, 2011. However it wasn’t until March 20th, 2013 that the group finally released their debut single Suki! Suki! Skip!. Since then the group has gained a lot of popularity with members like Kodama HarukaMiyawaki Sakura Tomonaga Mio but non of them are as well known as the power house that is Sashihara Rino who won this year‘s Senbatsu SousenkyoSashihara originally was a part of AKB48 but was transferred over to HKT48 on June 16, 2012 due to a scandal that she was involved in but was not long after promoted the group’s Team H which she’s still a part of and even has a Concurrent Position as HKT48 theater manager.

I’m honestly really glad that HKT is getting a new single along with all of their fellow sisters groups, and it’ll sure be interesting to see how Matsuoka as Center for this single will play out in HKT‘s future.
