With the news that Fate/Extella suffers from a delayed release in North America, there is some good Fate news for us all. The Sony Japan website has released details of limited edition versions of the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita coming out only for Japan ahead of the launch.

Limited Edition Saberface consoles

The Playstation 4 version is as jet black as my soul, featuring Arturia Pendragon and Nero Claudius with their respective swords. The PS4 version comes in either a 500gb or 1tb version. It will also come with a unique Fate/Extella theme and packaging.

Rather than making the Vita version as edgy, the Vita edition is snow white and features a chibi Nero and Arturia playing with each other. The seriousness of the PS4 version removed, and it also comes in unique packaging with a Fate/Extella downloadable theme.

Noble Phantasm edition announced in the US

So, bad news. The special edition announced last time, along with the Nero Bride mousepad isn’t coming to the US, but in Japan only. So sorry, but you aren’t getting any of these:

Fate/Extella

As a result of this tragedy, in the US and the rest of the world we get the less lewd Noble Phantasm edition:

Fate/Extella

In the Noble Phantasm edition we get a 7.5×6.3″ hardcover art book, with over 100 pages of high-quality art from Fate/Extella, 16 3×6″ character cards to correlate with the characters, a 24×17″ cloth wall art of Nero and Tamamo No Mae. Everything comes in a sleek custom box.

The story of Fate/Extella is a bit different than what we have come to expect from Fate/Stay Night. It’s a sequel to Fate/Extra and Fate/Extra CCC and is alternate universes of Fate/Stay Night. The game is set inside a digital world known as Serial Phantasm or SE.RA.PH, controlled by the AI Moon Cell.

As a result, they form into three parties, Attila’s party, Nero’s party and Tamamo No Mae’s party, the battle for control of this digital realm.

Finally, what are your thoughts about Fate/Extella? Are you excited for it? Are you disappointed you can’t get the Nero Bride mousepad? Or do you prefer the fact you now have some tasteful wall art? Let us know below.
